An Invitation to all students at St.Antony's College, Kayts

It is abundantly clear from various reports in circulation that our college seriously lacks funds to support investment in teachers, education and administration. The efforts of the alumni associations all over the world are still proving to be inadequate. In such circumstances, it is no surprise that the college has fallen behind in extra curricular activities such as sports and games, in which the college was extremely well accomplished and renowned in the previous years.

We, the Executive Committee of St Antony's College Kayts Alumni Association of Europe (SACKAAEU) based in the United Kingdom are keen to create a momentum in this direction. In this respect, we have successfully agreed with a sponsor to offer financial incentive to entice potential athletes at St Antony's College to step forward once again. Accordingly, we are pleased to announce that our sponsor, "Manuelpillai Foundation of London" has kindly agreed to fund an Awards Programme that we believe would encourage the current students to compete and challenge each other in pursuit of these awards.

Public Schools
Certificate

Many of the past and present students will know that one of our most outstanding athletes of past years, Vincent Stanley Manuelpillai, placed the name of our college on the map of Sri Lanka in 1961 by winning the First Place in his chosen event, High Jump, at the All Ceylon Public Schools Athletic Meet, held in Colombo. In the same year, he broke and set a new college record in the same event. He was merely eighteen (18) years of age. Over forty three (43) years later, we would like to see a repetition of this achievement.
